Calvin Hung
Calvin on being part of the HaB school (2019) and his association with IIAS and Leiden University Institute for Area Studies (LIAS)
It’s an honor to join the school aimed in knowing better the city I lived in and deeply loved. This is the city where I gained knowledge about critical heritage studies in the oldest university in the Netherlands. I also met Dutch and international friends during my MA studies. Last but not least, the city amazed me with its rich humanities traditions, liveable city scale and efforts to transform it into a better place.
I have been through interdisciplinary training since my undergraduate studies. I received my BA degree in English Literature and MA degree in Critical Heritage Studies. I am on my way to finishing a degree in Building and Planning in National Taiwan University. During my graduate training, I discovered my career goal. I will devote my career shaping the world into a more sustainable, livable, and accessible to resources. I would like to see if the result of the summer school can help Leiden step closer to my dream.
Interests/Skills: Interviewing, hosting group discussions, oral storytelling and cooking
